Human Eye Model
Introduction
I built a large scale, telescopically segmented model eye. I donated the model to my high school since it was recognized by many teachers as an effective teaching aid.
Creativeness
This project was extremely fun because it allowed me to be very artistic, resourceful, and detailed. I used 2 bowls, a broom pole wrapped in tin tape, caulking for the texture inside the eye, 2 small plastic plates that were seamed together for the lens, and a plastic plate for the iris. I also built a small base out of scrap pine.
I am most proud of the iris on this project. I spent a long time hand painting the plate to make it look realistic. I realized that the project needed to look amazing, as well as properly display the main components of a human eye in order for it to represent it accurately.
